Every year, the National Day fireworks spectacular is eagerly awaited, and this year it is confirmed to be held in Pingtung. The show will begin at 8 PM on October 10, National Day, and will feature a longer-than-usual fireworks display, kicking off at Pingtung Riverside Park.

After the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung drew large crowds to enjoy the fireworks earlier this year, the Double Ten National Day fireworks have also been scheduled for Pingtung. This year’s event breaks from tradition by presenting an unprecedented 42-minute fireworks show, with a preview test launch held at Pingtung Riverside Park on September 24.

This year’s fireworks, like those at the Taiwan Lantern Festival, will feature drone performances synchronized with music, making the show even more spectacular. The launch site is near the old railway bridge of the Gaoping River at Pingtung Riverside Park, allowing both Kaohsiung and Pingtung residents to enjoy the dazzling display lighting up the night sky.

In addition, starting at 12 PM on October 10, traffic controls will be implemented around the event area. The main venue will designate a pedestrian-only zone, with vehicles—including motorcycles and cars—restricted from entering key roads such as Guangfu Road, Airport North Road, Datong Road, and County Road 189. The county government has also added shuttle buses and pickup points, including Pingtung Railway Station, Airport North Road, and Dike Road, where free shuttles are available to take spectators to the fireworks show.
