Starlux Airlines is set to launch operations at the end of January 2020, and on October 2nd, it also revealed the flight attendants’ uniforms, marking a new era of fashion for Taiwan’s brand-new airline.

Striving to create a fashionable and tasteful new image, the uniforms were designed by renowned Taiwanese designer Lin Yin-Pei-Kun, who skillfully incorporated retro and futuristic elements to present a cosmic, space-age feel.
Inspired by famed Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Frank Gehry, designer Lin Yin-Pei-Kun, who is passionate about both architecture and fashion, said: “With the concept of creating classics anew, we combined 1940s–50s fashion elements with a futuristic tech vibe. It’s just like the design of Starlux Airlines’ aircraft — the fuselage is cutting-edge, but the cabin space is warm and inviting.”
Through high-end couture techniques such as mixed-material stitching, color blocking, appliqué, and embroidery, the design showcases a retro yet modern, avant-garde structure. The focus isn’t only on the flight attendants’ uniforms — meticulous attention has also been given to the attire of mechanics, flight operations staff, and ground services. The goal is for passengers to enjoy a cohesive visual aesthetic from the moment they enter the terminal until they’re seated in the cabin.
Starlux Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei stated that the airline does not simply emphasize luxury or high prices, but aims to provide high-quality and premium service.
The brand-new uniforms, which span pilots, ground staff, flight attendants, aviation operations personnel, and mechanics, all embody the spirit of “JX Style!” Chairman Chang Kuo-wei also humorously remarked, “The flight attendants will definitely look even more beautiful in them,” underscoring the superior standard that Starlux Airlines’ uniforms are sure to achieve.
