The Flower Trial Center on Yangmingshan Mountain launched the Taipei Camellia Exhibition on January 10th, themed “Visiting the World of Camellias.” A variety of camellias are blooming one after another, and the stunning flower tunnel is a feast for the eyes.

Since 1949 (the 38th year of the Republic of China), the Flower Trial Center has been cultivating camellias and collecting varieties, dedicated to camellia cultivation and germplasm preservation. The garden has gathered over 300 varieties and more than 5,000 camellia plants, most of which are precious, 50–60-year-old trees planted in situ. It is currently the largest camellia garden in Taiwan.

In addition to the existing camellia forest area, camellia mei area, camellia-rhododendron area, camellia tunnel, golden camellia area, and fragrant camellia area, the garden is also decorated with tulips, hyacinths, delphiniums, foxgloves, and seasonal flowers, creating a vibrant spring scene full of flowers and birdsong that quickly fills up your camera or phone memory.
This year’s camellia exhibition is themed “Visiting the World of Camellias.”
The Taipei Camellia Exhibition has entered its 17th year and is the longest-running camellia exhibition in Taiwan. Camellias typically bloom around the winter-spring transition, like floral fairies heralding spring. The exhibit is inspired by a natural style, with colorful camellia potted plants from various regions complementing each other, evoking a lively, warm, and peaceful atmosphere.
