Rainbow Waterfall is located in Xiulin Township, Hualien, and served as one of the filming locations for the movie "Seediq Bale." It is also known as the Seasonal Rainfall Waterfall because it tends to disappear during the dry season and only reappears during the rainy season.

Originally a hidden swimming spot known only to locals, Rainbow Waterfall gained fame after being featured in the movie "Seediq Bale" and has since become a must-visit destination for many travelers. The waterfall is situated in the valley of the Miayawan River, upstream of the Qiao Stream, with a vertical drop of about 30 meters. Its majestic and picturesque scenery makes it a perfect summer retreat for cooling off and enjoying the water.

Also located in Xiulin Township is another hidden waterfall gem — the Poplar Trail. Once recognized by foreign media as one of the world’s must-visit destinations, this site features a cave formed through millennia of erosion, complemented by a waterfall that pours down like a curtain of water. It evokes the fairyland of the Water Curtain Cave described in "Journey to the West," creating a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere.

The Poplar Trail stretches 2.1 kilometers and is generally flat and easy to walk, taking about two hours for a round trip. Along the way, you can admire waterfalls, canyons, and other amazing sights including the “Water Curtain Cave.”
