Fifteen years ago, the mother of the Inamura family (played by Yūko Tanaka) killed her alcoholic and abusive husband for the sake of her three children’s future. That night, their fates were forever changed. The siblings each took vastly different paths: the second son, Yuji (Takeru Satoh), chased his dream of becoming a journalist in Tokyo but ended up working odd jobs at a magazine to get by; the eldest son, Taiki (Ryota Suzuki), struggled with a speech impediment, became estranged from his wife, and is now fighting for custody of his daughter; the daughter, Sonoko (Mao Inoue), was labeled as the “daughter of a murderer” and had to give up her dream of becoming a hairstylist, instead working at a bar. Fifteen years later, the mother returns to their hometown upon completing her sentence, hoping to mend broken family ties — but when the truth behind the incident hits the tabloids… just how strong are family bonds when faced with lies and betrayal?
