Frequent travelers on Taiwan Railways trains are well acquainted with the classic deep blue seats and dominant color scheme. With increasing demand, TRA has developed a dedicated Taiwan Island-Round Sightseeing Train, and has recently released a fresh new design that has truly caught passengers’ eyes.
The newly designed business-class car of Taiwan’s Island-Round Sightseeing Train makes its debut.
The concept behind this design is to transform Taiwan’s natural elements into an immersive in-carriage experience — from urban to rural views, inside and outside the windows. Seats symbolizing the sea and pebbles are paired with TRA-emblazoned blue-black headrests embroidered with electrical stitching, Hualien marble-patterned tabletops, and large-area woven-patterned carpets that create a sleek, streamlined feel, connecting the scenery inside and outside the train seamlessly.

The natural yet minimalist aesthetic design was met with immediate praise and affection from travelers. The sightseeing train cars are divided into three sections: the business-class car featuring 2+1 spacious, comfortable, and unrestrained seating; the bar car equipped with refrigeration and heating facilities, offering a diverse and flexible dining experience; and the lounge car furnished with audiovisual equipment and swivel seats for a premium, relaxing experience.

The carriages are divided into three types: business car, bar car, and lounge car.
The business car’s seats, headrests, and window curtains are all thoughtfully designed. Among them, the headrests, redesigned with a minimalist approach, feature a desaturated “gray-blue” tone paired with electrical embroidery of TRA’s I-beam rail logo, exuding top-tier quality.
