Japan’s largest “Nabana no Sato” this year presents a visual spectacle themed around cherry blossoms that bloom miraculously in the winter night, while the country’s biggest “Kiso Sansen Park,” run by the national government, attracts visitors with its high-quality yet free light festival. For families looking to meet everyone’s needs, Aichi Prefecture’s “Laguna Ten Bosch” offers amusement park facilities, hotels, hot springs, and more, making it an ideal choice for a family winter trip.

Every year as the year draws to a close, light festivals with unique themes pop up across Japan, making them one of the must-do winter activities. “Nabana no Sato” was voted the professional category winner for the light festival for three consecutive years, chosen by over 5,000 night view connoisseurs nationwide from among 800 locations in Japan.

“Nabana no Sato” not only captures attention every year with its overwhelming scale as the nation’s largest, but this year it also takes the theme of brilliant cherry blossoms, showcasing exquisite beauty through a massive 30-meter-high, 155-meter-wide LED wall. Coupled with a nearly 7-minute audiovisual performance depicting the changing seasons, plus a watercolor-like wisteria trellis area of about 70 meters and multi-layered imagery such as golden grasslands, it delivers an incredibly immersive experience.

In addition, there are seven major themed zones to explore, such as the 200-meter rapeseed flower light corridor that looks like a warm yellow carpet woven with tiny bulbs, the approximately 120-meter Light River water-based light show, or the Light Sea performed together with thousand-year-old trees—each area offers grandeur unmatched by other light festivals.
