Located at the junction of tropical and subtropical zones, Taiwan boasts not only majestic mountains but also a rich ecological environment. The Chiayi University Insect Museum hopes to enhance the public's understanding of the land around them by creating a real-life ecological space.

The museum is divided into several sections, including conservation insect models, a rotating butterfly pillar, domestic and international insect specimen displays, live aquatic insects, and a butterfly greenhouse garden. The unique circular design of the greenhouse garden mimics the habitat of mid-to-low altitude virgin forests, featuring up to 25 species of butterflies as well as host plants for their larvae.

The interior of the sphere features a circular walkway that allows visitors to get up close to butterflies while strolling, offering perfect opportunities for dreamy photos and combining leisure with educational fun.

Next to the insect museum is the Chiayi University Coffee Academy, which features four specialty areas: hand-roasted coffee, Chiayi–Tainan regional specialties, Chiayi University-themed items, and Hinoki premium goods. It offers gourmet meals along with refined coffee and tea beverages, incorporating high-quality agricultural products from the Chiayi–Tainan region.
