The 2019 Gongguan Christmas Season runs from now until December 31 at the Taipei Water Park. In addition to floral displays and Christmas lights, this year features Bear Chans as the park’s “manager.” The 111-year-old Guanyinshan Reservoir also offers exclusive Christmas season activities—free admission and a free poinsettia pot.

One of the city-designated historic building complexes, the “Guanyinshan Reservoir,” known as the “Taipei Waterworks Purification Reservoir” during the Japanese colonial period, is an 111-year-old reservoir that primarily supplied domestic water to the Mengjia and Dadaocheng areas at the time. Its main structure is made of reinforced concrete in a semi-underground design with winding guide walls. The interior stays warm in winter and cool in summer, while the exterior showcases neoclassical architectural features.
The 2019 Gongguan Christmas Season combines activities with the city-designated historic site of the Taipei Waterworks. From December 14 to December 29, participants who complete the scheduled guided tour of the Guanyinshan Reservoir will receive one 3-inch poinsettia pot (each session has a quota of 30 people).
To maintain quality, each scheduled guided tour of the Guanyinshan Reservoir is limited to 30 participants. To join, please collect a tour number ticket for the day’s session at the ticket window during park operating hours. One person may collect only one ticket, and tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. After the guided tour, the reservoir will be open for a limited time for visitors without tickets to enter, take photos, and explore.
