The 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival was held in Taichung, themed “Shining Taichung,” with main and sub-zones planned according to the features of the venues. The main zones, “Forest Mystery” and “Artistic Imagination World,” were displayed at the Houli Flower Expo Park from February 8 to 23, 2020, while the sub-zone “Kids' Fun Land” at the Wenxin Forest Park lit up brilliantly as early as December 21.

The sub-zone Wenxin Forest Park covers an area of 8.8 hectares, with the exhibition running from December 21, 2019, to February 23, 2020 — a total of 65 days. It features five lantern zones: Zodiac Garden, Tropical Jungle, Festival Carnival, Colorful World, and International Stars.
The sub-zone “Festival Carnival” also features themed decorations for different holidays, filling the area with festive atmosphere.
The lighting period of the sub-zone spans major holidays including Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year, and the Lantern Festival. The “Festival Carnival” area includes a forest of Christmas trees, and uses high-tech projection effects to present an 8-meter-tall snowman light sculpture. Themed decorations are adapted for different holidays. Additionally, there is a colorful world lantern zone in collaboration with the popular gashapon toy “Tropical Fruit Bird,” and other zones featuring “Hudded Planet.”
