Far East Airlines emphasized that the key focus moving forward would be on two main aspects: first, managing passenger services during the upcoming high-demand holiday travel period, and second, stabilizing over a thousand employees and their families—impacting around four to five thousand people in total—and handling aftercare comprehensively. During the press conference, a representative from Far East Airlines also emphasized that the airline has been in operation for over 60 years, with its birthday falling under the Gemini zodiac sign, and expressed hope for warmth and support from the Civil Aeronautics Administration and all sectors of society.

Chang Kang-wei also joked during the press conference, “Maybe many people are wondering why I’m still here today,” but he also sincerely expressed that running an airline as a licensed exclusive business as a sole proprietor is extremely challenging and requires investment from other partners. He also stated that he had a very tough day emotionally on December 12, but personally, he remains very optimistic and strong, though also human, and hopes to get through this difficult time for Far East Airlines.
Chang Kang-wei also explained that the “farewell letter” released on the 12th stemmed from the financial shortfall following the incident, which left him feeling extremely discouraged, prompting him to post the letter. However, within less than a day, a resolution approach emerged, with three groups of investors offering assistance, as well as support from the regulatory authority, the Civil Aeronautics Administration, bringing a turning point to the situation. Now, he is also very confident about handling the matter.
Chang Kang-wei also stated that the “farewell letter” represented his personal feelings and situation. The amount involved in the alleged fraud was not convenient to disclose, and there was no issue of being unreachable—he explained it might have been a misunderstanding due to his phone being turned on and off because he was not in a good mood.
