The Chi-Ling Lin Foundation usually holds a charity sale in early December each year, and issued a statement on the 28th:

Mao Jia’en, Godfrey Gao’s close friend, had originally planned to hold his wedding on November 29 with Godfrey serving as best man. It has now been changed to a private family gathering, with no media interviews or photos allowed. The wedding was originally set to have Godfrey accompany the bridesmaid Barbie Hsu, but has been altered so that another groomsman will walk in with both bridesmaids instead—“we still kept a spot for Godfrey as groomsman.” The night before the wedding, he also posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying how they clicked instantly 15 years ago, praising Godfrey’s approachability and their family-like bond. After hearing the tragic news, he couldn’t stop crying... His words once again show deep reluctance and sorrow.

Godfrey Gao’s family has all traveled to mainland China to handle the aftermath. Since the procedures to return the body to Taiwan are quite complicated, his relatives may choose to cremate him in mainland China before bringing him back. His father expressed deep grief, saying it’s “such a shame” that Godfrey passed away at such a young age.
