The Guandu International Natural Art Festival runs from now until December 31. With 2019’s theme “No Time to Waste,” it builds on Guandu Nature Park’s ongoing and extensive surveys, setting seven major research topics. Local and international artists are invited to create on-site, using their works to tell the story of this land, convey the value of habitats and biodiversity, spark ecological awareness among audiences, and help everyone reconnect with nature.

Meanwhile, the Asian Wetland Conference will take place from December 2 to 7 at Guandu Nature Park and Taipei Zoo. This year’s conference coincides with the 20th anniversary of Guandu Nature Park and includes a two-day international symposium held at Taipei Zoo on December 2 and 3.
In addition to inviting management representatives from over 10 wetland centers across different countries and regions to share more than 10 diverse case studies, the event also features keynote speeches by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) of the UK, the National Geographic Society, and leading figures in Taiwan’s conservation efforts across seven sessions.
On December 5 and 6, over 80 wetland center management representatives from more than 10 countries will gather at Guandu Nature Park for a two-day annual meeting of the International Wetland Partnership Network, marking one of Taiwan’s most significant recent events in wetland conservation.
