A mysterious alien-like landscape, where barren hills meet tranquil lakes, creating a magical scenery reminiscent of a movie scene — this is a unique spot that many travelers and photography enthusiasts must visit.

Located in Longqi Township, Tainan, the Niupu Clay Loam Soil and Water Conservation Education Park was established by the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau of the Council of Agriculture. It serves both as a soil and water conservation initiative and a rural landscape project, using natural engineering methods to collect water in the valley as a model site for conservation.

The serene lake surface combined with the chalky hills makes this a popular destination for photographers at dusk, while many visitors also enjoy walking along the lake loop trail. It takes about two hours to slowly walk around the entire park.

The Niupu Clay Loam Soil and Water Conservation Education Park has six educational interpretive spots, each themed around topics such as “Remembering the Source,” “Oasis in Bloom,” “Classic Charm,” “Endless Vitality,” “Pavilion over Water,” and “Scenic Lake and Mountains.”

Through guided tours by interpreters, visitors can learn about the ecological engineering achievements implemented by the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau in this area over the years, and gain deeper insights into the local ecology, culture, and natural landscapes.
