Shenkeng is located in the center of New Taipei City, boasting beautiful mountain and forest scenery throughout its territory. It’s famous for its specialty tofu, bamboo shoots, and tea leaves. Also known as Shijian Mountain, Erge Mountain stands at an elevation of 678 meters. With its expansive views, it has become a favorite hiking route for many. The trail consists of stone steps and natural dirt paths. At the summit, there is a uniquely designed wooden pavilion where you can not only overlook the skyscrapers of Taipei but also see mountains such as Wuzhi Mountain and Qixing Mountain. Due to the dense forest cover and the challenging mountain paths, hikers can enjoy an authentic forest bathing experience and the thrill of hiking.

The herb farm is situated at the highest point where the A’rouyang Industrial Road in Shenkeng meets the Muzha Maokong area, at an altitude of about 480 meters. From here, you can overlook the A’roukeng Valley and gaze out toward Shiding and Xizhi. Nearby, there are also nature trails such as Bijia Mountain, Erge Mountain, and Hou Mountain. Travelers can choose a trail based on how much time they have and enjoy a relaxing time.

Hou Mountain Yue, standing at an elevation of 553 meters and also known as Yuan Mountain, is located on the western ridge of the Erge Mountain range. The trail is made up of stone steps and natural dirt paths, with several rocky cliffs along the way that require climbing, making it quite challenging. The path is covered in forests, and as you walk through the mountain trails, you’ll find mixed forests of Acacia and Pterocarpus trees, offering a rich forest bathing experience and allowing you to fully enjoy the serene mountain scenery.

Paizi? Waterfall is located on the Paizi? Stream. When the stream is full, water cascades down from the top of the waterfall in four streams, hence it is also called the Four Dragons Waterfall. Due to Shenkeng’s lush mountain forests and numerous winding streams, the area is filled with naturally stunning landscapes, among which the Four Dragons Waterfall is the most famous.
