No need to fly to Japan to see the famed “Furano flower fields” of Hokkaido — Taipei has its own mini “Taiwan version.” Spanning 2,400 ping, the vibrant colors of blooming flowers make it overwhelmingly romantic.

Accessible via MRT, Guting Riverside Park is currently in full bloom, with vast expanses of red, white, and purple seasonal blooms that are dazzlingly bright and dreamy — so much so you won’t be able to stop snapping photos. This year, over 290,000 potted plants have been planted, including Begonia semperflorens, Salvia splendens, Petunia, Cosmos sulphureus, Salvia farinacea, and Zinnia elegans. The saturated, vivid colors and endless green lawns create a postcard-perfect view.

Guting Riverside Park’s wedding square is close to the Gongguan and Shida shopping areas, making it very convenient to get to. The riverside park also features many exotic-themed installations, offering picturesque and dreamy views everywhere. These flower seas will continue to bloom all the way until around Lunar New Year in January next year, and are expected to become a popular photo spot for those going on spring outings.
