In winter, when snowflakes flurry across Hokkaido, the region’s exciting snowy season activities, breathtaking ice and snow scenery, and exclusive winter cuisine make it the No. 1 destination for snow tourism. This year, JR Hokkaido Railway Company and the Hokkaido Tourism Promotion Organization have jointly launched the “Hokkaido Ultra-Cool Winter Work & Travel Recruitment Program,” encouraging young people to embrace the courage to explore the unknown in the snowy wonderland of the north.
This ultimate “chill” job opportunity will announce its selected candidates on November 21st at the 3rd floor of Eslite Bookstore Xinyi Store in Taipei after going through multiple rounds of selection. A “Hokkaido Ultra-Cool Journey Talk Event” will also be held, inviting railway expert Sei Yazaki, who has traveled across mountains and seas throughout Hokkaido, travel expert Huang Yuyun, Deputy Manager of the Japan Tourism Association Taiwan Office, and food expert Li Ruofan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of AZ Magazine. Through four tiered lectures, they will share travel tips on how to take trains and rent cars for outdoor ultra-cool experiences, tailored separately for first-timers and seasoned repeat visitors to Hokkaido.
Those eager to experience the beauty of the northern lands can join the event to exchange travel stories with the experts. On-site prizes include round-trip air tickets to Sapporo, 3-day 2-night free travel packages, JR Hokkaido Railway Passes, and other great giveaways — just show up for a chance to win big prizes. Additionally, Japan Railways JR Hokkaido will bring two special stamps from Wakkanai and Biei stations all the way from Japan. Free stamping paper will also be provided on-site so everyone can get beautifully stamped souvenirs.
