Let’s dig in at the snack spot near Nangang Station—super popular cold noodles and assorted meat slices!

Although Nangang is located on the edge of Taipei, the district is bustling with a tri-rail hub, software parks, exhibition venues, and numerous schools. This super-popular cold noodle eatery near Nangang Station has been feeding many locals and hardworking students. Today, we’re taking you and our travel editor to dig in!

Kanji Cold Noodles is located in the covered walkway of a street block about a five-minute walk from Nangang Station’s exit. The shop is small, with around 20 seats inside and out. During mealtimes, there’s definitely a line, but everyone’s just here to fill up, and the table turnover is pretty fast—you won’t wait long.

Our travel editor arrived close to 2 PM this time, but seats were still hard to come by. After a short wait, we got a table. The staff cleared our spot quickly and asked what we wanted to order. In less than three minutes, all our food was served—how efficient is that?

Although the shop is called Kanji Cold Noodles, aside from their signature cold noodles, they also serve main dishes like braised pork rice, pork ball noodles, and rice vermicelli soup, as well as a variety of side dishes like assorted meat slices and blanched greens. With so many options, we’re seriously wondering how much prep goes into keeping all the ingredients stocked. Basically, if you can think of it, they probably have it—but with so many choices, those with indecisive taste buds might have a bit of trouble ordering.

We got one large and one small portion of cold noodles, a $100 NT assorted meat slice platter, some braised tofu, and a bowl of pig’s blood soup. At Kanji, you’ve gotta go all out and fill the table to really enjoy it. Getting this kind of high-value cold noodle meal with sides in Taipei is pure bliss.
