Hokkaido Driving Tour: Make the Most of the Furano & Biei Area Pass

The sales period for the “Furano & Biei Area Pass” begins now and runs until October 14, and it can be used until October 17. The ticket price is 5,400 yen for adults and 2,700 yen for children when starting from Sapporo; from New Chitose Airport, it’s 7,400 yen for adults and 3,700 yen for children. The pass is valid for four days. By taking the Furano Lavender Limited Express, you can travel conveniently between Sapporo and Furano without transfers—please note that each train runs on different schedules.

In addition to the limited express trains, JR Hokkaido also operates special Twinkle Buses for JR passengers. This summer, there are five routes in total, each departing from either the Furano or Biei Station, looping around specific attractions before returning to the station—making it convenient for travelers to explore the areas near the stations. Twinkle Bus tickets can be purchased at station ticket offices or tourist centers, with fares varying by route. Passengers holding the Furano & Biei Area Pass, Lavender Hills Area Pass, Lavender Free Ride Ticket, JR Pass, or Hokkaido Rail Pass need to pay an additional fare, as the ticket is not valid for sightseeing bus routes.
