In Taiwan, where food is life, you can find delicious eats wherever people gather. Zhongshan District is home to many companies, and Qingdao Dumplings on Longjiang Road is a beloved spot for locals and office workers alike. Today, join netizens and Jingbian as we dig in together!

Qingdao Dumpling Restaurant is a hidden gem among taxi drivers.

Located at the corner of Longjiang Road and Xing’an Street in Zhongshan District, Qingdao Dumpling Restaurant isn’t very big and doesn’t have many seats. Yet, it’s always packed during mealtimes. The high turnover means you won’t have to wait long to enjoy their tasty dumplings.

That day, I had the cabbage and pork filling.

By the time I arrived, it was almost 1:30 PM. Luckily, the table just vacated gave me a spot right away. The owner was very welcoming, but just as I sat down, I heard the disappointing news that the hot and sour soup was sold out. It feels like a curse—whenever I want something, it’s gone. Total bummer.

The service was super efficient.

The restaurant offers two types of dumplings: leek and pork, and cabbage and pork. The owner has a unique style—during weekdays, only cabbage dumplings are available, and on the second Saturday of the month at noon, only leek dumplings are served. Side dishes include hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, and a few simple small plates. It’s pretty much a one-trick pony concept.

Dumplings paired with a few small sides and a bowl of soup make for a super satisfying lunch.

All the dumplings here are handmade and hand-rolled by the owners—you can definitely taste the difference. The dumplings at Qingdao Dumpling Restaurant have slightly thicker skins and not overly generous fillings. The filling and skin are distinct, yet juicy, giving off a strong military dependents’ village vibe. They’re not like the typical dumplings you’d find elsewhere—more like the kind your grandmother used to make when you were a kid.
