The “2010 Kaohsiung Food & Shopping Festival” will begin with a concert on the afternoon of July 31st and continue for three weeks, inviting everyone to experience the dynamic city of Kaohsiung. In addition to gourmet competitions and dining discounts, you can also enter lucky draws to win big prizes such as cars and five-day trips to Phuket — such an amazing event is definitely not to be missed.

The opening concert will take place at 4:30 PM on July 31st, featuring performances by spokesperson Van Fan and other artists in a four-hour non-stop music extravaganza. The “2010 Kaohsiung Food & Shopping Festival” will kick off with the “Yi Ya Food Festival,” which includes themed events such as “Veterans’ Village Gourmet Awards,” “International Cuisine Awards,” and “Traditional Delicacies Awards,” allowing visitors to sample the wide variety of delicious food in Kaohsiung.

Thirteen department stores in Kaohsiung have also joined forces to launch a shopping lucky draw, featuring prizes worth up to NT$500,000 for a car, NT$300,000 for Thai furniture, NT$200,000 in luxury goods, and round-trip airfare for a five-day trip to Phuket — definitely more generous than the prizes offered throughout the year.

The grand finale closing concert, “Korean Wave Fever,” is also not to be missed. Featuring performances by top Korean idol groups such as Wonder Girls, 2PM, MBLAQ, JYP, and miss A, the concert will take place at the Kaohsiung Arena on August 22nd, bringing an unprecedented wave of K-pop excitement.
