Is visiting an art museum only about admiring masterpieces? Not at all—both adults and kids can become artists too. In conjunction with the “Manet to Picasso” exhibition, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum has created an imaginative Impressionist artist’s studio. The public can enter free of charge for the “Doodling & Painting – Summer Art Workshop” and create their own one-of-a-kind artwork with their own hands.

The “Doodling & Painting – Summer Art Workshop” focuses on still life and portrait painting. With the onsite spatial arrangement, objects, and lighting, visitors feel as if they’re in an actual artist’s studio, immersing themselves in the homey atmosphere of Impressionist painters. Here, participants can arrange objects themselves, create a sense of spatial composition, and complete their own works—getting a rare taste of what it’s like to be an artist. Both adults and children can hang their finished paintings on-site, becoming part of the studio environment.
The activity runs until August 27, every Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 16:30, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. The time slot from 14:00 to 15:00 is reserved for school group bookings, which must be arranged in advance.
