Autumn is the season when silvergrass blooms. Regular visitors to Yangmingshan will surely notice the swaying silvergrass in Yangmingshan National Park, gradually drawing crowds of admirers. What could be more relaxing than a "Silvergrass on Ancient Trails" autumn tour during this cool season? On October 9, 16, 23, and 30, guides will lead participants to explore the "Fisherman’s Trail" and the "Qingtiangang Grassland," immersing them in the grassy mountain charm of autumn.
The Fisherman’s Trail was a vital route between Shimen and Jinshan during the late Qing and early Republican eras.
The "Fisherman’s Trail" was a crucial path for early settlers traveling between Jinshan and Shilin during the late Qing and early Republican periods. Lined with silvergrass, ferns, and tree ferns, the trail is dotted with remnants of the past, reminding us of the toil of our ancestors in reclaiming land and establishing transportation. Now, along with the "Qingtiangang Grassland," it has become one of the best spots to admire silvergrass, with its cultural heritage and historical tales celebrated by many.
The Qingtiangang Grassland is a rare scenic gem in the Taipei area.
Nature enthusiasts can join guided tours to learn about the relationship between silvergrass and the lives of early settlers, as well as its role in the ecosystem, fostering a deeper appreciation for protecting this precious natural environment in Taipei.
The "Silvergrass on Ancient Trails" event consists of four sessions, with a registration fee of NT$500 per person (including lunch, insurance, instructor fees, and transportation). Children under junior high school age must be accompanied by a parent.
