On the 8th, a hiking team from Xinfeng Township, Hsinchu County, was trekking on the Daowei Mountain hiking trail in Pinglin District, New Taipei City, when a 35-year-old female team member surnamed Tsai suddenly experienced dizziness, difficulty breathing, and even went into shock and lost consciousness. After receiving the report, the fire department administered oxygen treatment and dressed her in a lightweight raincoat to keep her warm. Eighteen strong men were mobilized to carry her down the mountain in three separate shifts for medical treatment. On the 12th, the hiking team presented a letter of appreciation from Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun to the police and volunteer firefighters of the Pinglin Fire Station to express their gratitude.
