The upcoming Western Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and as the holiday approaches, restaurants and businesses are rolling out sweet treats to attract customers. But for those without a significant other, stepping out on February 14th can feel especially "painful." In such moments, indulging in a “breakup cake” and devouring your heartache might just turn your single luck around, welcoming new romance in the new year.

To cash in on Valentine’s Day business, cake shops have been quick on their feet. In addition to the usual romantic cakes, this year they’ve specially created the “Unlucky in Love. Devil’s Black Diamond Cake” for the singleton crowd. Made with rich 83% Michel Cluizel French estate chocolate ganache and layered with bittersweet chocolate cake, the cake also includes fresh caramelized banana slices. The dense texture lets every bite deliver the “love-struck agony” of chocolate paired with the tangy sweetness of banana. It’s perfect for personal indulgence or as a gift—whether you’re coping with a breakup, heartbreak, ending a relationship, or turning down a suitor, this unconventional treat can bring a unique sentiment home. After enjoying the cake, let go of the past and get ready for the next right person.

Aside from the special breakup cake, couples shouldn’t forget to express their love during the holiday. The “True Love Invincible. Angel’s Love Valentine’s Cake” features French whipped cream, Japanese Tokachi red beans, and fresh strawberries to create a pink angel-winged red bean cake. It symbolizes the longing of lovesick red beans and the sweet taste of strawberry romance, making it perfect for a romantic Valentine’s Day for two. All three stores nationwide will begin accepting orders starting February 7, 2011.
