Next week is a long holiday, and this year’s Children’s Day falls on a day off. Coinciding with the city’s centennial upgrade, New Taipei City has designated April as Children’s Month, integrating the unique features of schools across districts to plan a series of activities centered around “happiness,” “care,” “health,” and “confidence.” It also announced that on April 1st, there will be a “Class and Break Time Reversal!” where the first class of the day for each school will have reversed timings—break time becomes class time (10 minutes), and class time becomes break time (40 minutes), turning it into a joyful “Fun Festival.”

The activities in New Taipei City’s Children’s Month are abundant, with the most grand events being the “2011 New Taipei Kids’ Paradise, Toy Exhibition Magic” on April 10th and the “Art, Talent, and Dance Competition” on April 23rd. The “New Taipei Kids’ Paradise” will be held at Banqiao First Stadium in New Taipei City, designed like a carnival with areas for toy-making, experiences, displays, and children’s games, providing a leisure space for families on holidays. Meanwhile, the “Dance Competition” invites elementary school and kindergarten students to form teams and compete in music, dance, and mixed categories, allowing children to showcase their talents.

In addition, there is the “Toys Accompany You to School!” campaign, encouraging students to bring toys to school and share their toy stories with classmates; “Make the Schoolbag Disappear!” allows students to come to school without their backpacks, as teachers will use multimedia tools for diverse teaching methods, aiming for a Children’s Month filled with 100% happiness for all kids.
