The Miaoli County Government has been investing heavily in education. Following the success of the Gulliver Human Body Art Exploration Museum, from the 14th to the 23rd, it is bringing in the Paper Windmill Dinosaur Art Exploration Museum to create the “Magistrate Ah Hong’s Dinosaur Classroom” at Zhunan Sports Park. This event combines art, pop culture, and creativity, featuring 51 life-sized dinosaurs that existed just before their extinction 65 million years ago, as well as many dinosaur exhibits infused with artistic and creative elements for interactive fun.
Peng Fuyuan, head of the Education Department, noted that the Gulliver Human Body Art Exploration Museum in March attracted over 100,000 local residents who queued up for the experience. The upcoming Dinosaur Art Exploration Museum, set within a two-hectare park, will feature seven themed zones: the Paper Windmill Dinosaur Family, Giant Dinosaurs, Archaeopteryx Theater, Artistic Creative Dinosaurs, Cute Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Bookstore, and Eco-Friendly Dinosaur Eggs. These zones aim to satisfy the curiosity and desire for knowledge and creativity of both adults and children.
Magistrate Liu Cheng-hung and elementary school students led a parade yesterday featuring a 12-meter-tall Stegosaurus to promote the event. Interactive dinosaur characters made of strawberries and grapes performed energetic electric boogie and “Nobody” dance routines to warm up the crowd. He said the park features 51 vividly crafted fiberglass dinosaurs; the Archaeopteryx Theater will screen mysterious legends of the dinosaurs; there are also seesaw-style dinosaur rides perfect for families... The public is welcome to explore the mysteries of the dinosaur world and learn about the global emphasis on environmental protection after the dinosaurs’ extinction.
Liu You-gui, head of the Social Education Division, stated that the dinosaur exhibition will open on the morning of the 14th, with the display open to the public in the afternoon. The venue will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with extended hours until 9:00 PM on the 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. Residents of Miaoli County can enter for free, while transportation subsidies are provided to bring elementary school students in lower and middle grades to the event. Visitors from other counties or cities are charged NT$100 per person.
