The summer vacation is already halfway through, and you’re worried your child hasn’t made progress on their summer homework? Especially those extracurricular activities that require proof of broadened horizons can be a real headache for parents. Fortunately, some resort hotels in Hsinchu have launched educational activities that allow kids to complete their assignments while having fun, giving parents a chance to truly relax and enjoy their holiday.

To help parents unwind, The One Humanities Leisure Inn located in Hsinchu’s Xinpian District has introduced a new vacation model with “separate routes” for parents and children. Public Relations Manager Hsu Ta-chien says, “The separate guided tours for parents and kids meet the needs of both sides—parents can gain a deeper understanding of the garden’s architecture and the beauty of poetry and paintings, while kids have their own guides who take them around the garden through games, ensuring they have fun and complete their summer homework at the same time.”

Following the kids’ garden tour is actually quite fun—the guides point out details like butterfly-patterned windows symbolizing stacked blessings, bottle-shaped windows representing peace and safety, and peony windows standing for longevity, encouraging children to identify the patterns themselves and then helping them associate these with auspicious meanings.
