The "Top 10 Happiest and Most Fun Travel Routes in Taiwan" campaign, organized by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, announced its results on the afternoon of the 26th after an online vote and on-site evaluations by experts. Among the winners was a one-day tour from Hsinchu County titled “Following Ancient Trails to Tea Country: Shishan & Beibu Leisure Tour,” which successfully made the list.
The Shishan route received praise from both the public and judges. Deputy Magistrate Chang Jen-hsiang, who accepted the award on behalf of the county, said that the Shishan route fully showcases the unique features of Hsinchu County, including the lush and verdant Shishan Ancient Trail, authentic Hakka Lei Cha (pounded tea) and local delicacies along the historic streets of Beibu, as well as the widely renowned Oriental Beauty Tea—all of which have captivated visitors.
At the same time, a Shishan shuttle bus service has been launched. Travelers arriving at Hsinchu Station by high-speed rail can take the dedicated shuttle bus directly to places such as Beibu Old Street and Shishan Ancient Trail. The county government has also introduced a family package deal, with the Shishan one-day tour family ticket discounted by up to 62%, allowing parents to explore Hsinchu County with their children without needing to drive. The public is encouraged to use public transportation to visit and experience the charm of Hakka townships together.
