To strengthen parent-child bonds and encourage families to spend more time outdoors during holidays, connecting with nature and exploring Greater Taipei, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation is launching a special “Parent-Child One-Day Ticket, Buy One, Get One Free” promotion from June 19 to August 30. The offer is available on weekends and national holidays during this period, allowing families to enjoy a fun and relaxing day out together.
This is the first time Taipei MRT has issued the “Parent-Child One-Day Ticket.” From the Dragon Boat Festival holiday on June 19 through August 30, the ticket will be sold at MRT station information counters on 23 weekends and national holidays. Each ticket costs NT$150. For every adult, one child aged 6 to 12 rides free — the child’s fare is covered by Taipei MRT. Once purchased, the ticket allows unlimited rides on the day of purchase, so parents and kids can explore the city hand-in-hand and go wherever they like.
For example, on Dragon Boat Festival Day, if Dad buys a NT$150 “Parent-Child One-Day Ticket” at a station information counter, one child aged 6 to 12 rides for free. Together, they can take unlimited rides from the time of purchase until the end of MRT operating hours that day. They might start their day with a visit to Taipei Zoo to see the adorable animals, head to Tamsui Old Street in the afternoon for some snacks and shopping, and then take the MRT home in the evening as the sun sets, enjoying a warm and cozy family holiday.
Taipei MRT reminds everyone that the “Parent-Child One-Day Ticket” is available for purchase only on weekends and national holidays from June 19 to August 30, and can be bought at any MRT station information counter. The ticket is valid only on the day of purchase and cannot be used after that.
