On the eve of Children's Day, the Mufeng Care Association in Taichung specially arranged for parents and children to enjoy quality time together in Changhua, hoping to foster parent-child emotional connection and interaction through the trip.

Taiwan Taichung Mufeng Care Association CEO Lee Tsung-hua observed that many caregivers in disadvantaged families, while busy making ends meet, often neglect spending time with their children and sharing daily moments. Therefore, since 2012, the association has planned small trips focused on parent-child bonding. This year’s event, themed “Parent-Child Action,” saw the participation of 116 individuals from seven economically disadvantaged families.

Liang Ru?, a teacher at the Mufeng Nantun branch organizing the event, shared that through the children’s words, it was evident they didn’t really care where they went—what mattered most was spending time with their families.

To this end, this year Mufeng placed greater emphasis on activities where parents and children could complete tasks together, arranging parent-child challenge games, costume contests, and experiential education to strengthen interaction and create lasting memories.

Lin Yuxiu, a supervisor at the Mufeng Care Association, said that most of the families served by Mufeng are economically disadvantaged. Caregivers, striving to maintain their household livelihoods, are often busy with work, resulting in less time for interaction and bonding with their children. The lack of communication also leads to more frequent friction and arguments.

Lin Yuxiu stated that on the eve of Children's Day, through the organization of a parent-child day trip, families have the opportunity to go out together, complete game challenges as a team, and thereby bridge the gap between them and enhance their emotional bond. This helps disadvantaged families rediscover the warmth and joy of parent-child time, creating beautiful memories together. It also enables the children who come to Mufeng to face difficulties more positively, escape poverty and become self-reliant sooner, and grow into capable individuals who can give back to society in the future. 1050319
