Yosemite National Park in California, USA, is not only known for natural wonders such as moonbows (related report) and the Firefall (related report), but also for the rare sight of Rainbow Falls. Recently, a short video of Yosemite Fall has gone viral online. In the footage, taken under the morning light, the mist from the waterfall refracts into dazzling rainbow hues that continuously shift colors, creating a stunning visual.
The video was captured by landscape photographer Greg Harlow by sheer chance. It was actually taken on November 1, 2017, at 9:15 AM. That morning, he had climbed to the summit of Glacier Point early in the day, which happens to face the waterfall. By coincidence, he witnessed this natural phenomenon, which requires a precise combination of conditions and lasts only about 8 minutes. Without hesitation, Harlow immediately used a 200mm lens to photograph the scene.
According to Harlow, he spent three months photographing in Yosemite National Park in 2017, and the Rainbow Falls video is just one of many beautiful works. You can visit his personal website and Instagram to see more of his photography.
