The Yingge Children’s Toy Room, which opened last May, is located on the basement level of the Yingge Branch of New Taipei City Public Library. Covering approximately 200 ping (about 660 square meters), it is currently the largest in New Taipei City and the first parent-child toy room in the Sanxia-Yingge area.
Here, a playful "toy forest" inspired by the local Yingge Stone creates a whimsical atmosphere, offering a safe and interactive space for parents and children to play together. It also provides hundreds of educational toys and games suitable for different age groups, all available for free borrowing. Of course, there are also popular features like a ball pit and a story theater. Parents can enjoy playing with their kids while also focusing on education, allowing residents in the Yingge area to enjoy quality parent-child time without needing to travel to other cities.
The Children’s Reading Area at the New Taipei City Public Library Main Branch is a dedicated reading and learning space for children. It includes various themed zones such as the Children’s Reading Area, Parent-Child Co-Reading Area, Story House, Big Story Books, and Library Fun Learning Corner, providing age-appropriate activity spaces for children of all ages.
To satisfy children’s adventurous spirit of discovering new and interesting things and to enhance their learning abilities, the children’s reading room here is thoughtfully arranged and integrated with digital technology, offering surprising and engaging facilities waiting to be discovered by young explorers.
In addition to a self-service “Toast Baby” book borrowing and returning kiosk designed specifically for children, there’s also a “3D Underwater World” interactive experience to inspire aesthetic and creative thinking, a “Large Interactive Projection Storybook” that projects picture books directly onto book-shaped models to capture the attention of less focused children, and a “Library Exploration Interactive Game Wall” that lets kids go on a treasure hunt within the library, using digital tech to win their hearts.
The Tamsui Zhubei Children’s Toy Room, located near Zhubei Station on the MRT, features a children’s book area, a toy area, and a gross motor activity zone, allowing parents and children to learn through joyful play together, making it an ideal spot for shared reading and playing.
The Zhubei Branch Children’s Room integrates books and toys in the same space, aiming to encourage parents and children to pick up books and read together while playing, adding variety to children’s learning experiences. In addition to children’s books in 10 categories (ages 0–9), the library houses over 250 toys, including traditional toys, educational toys, language-learning toys, science toys, social-cultural toys, manipulative toys, and infant toys, as well as a gross motor activity area for babies under 106 cm tall to help develop their physical strength. 1060401
