Last year, the number of travelers from Central Taiwan visiting Hong Kong for overnight holidays increased significantly by 13.4%, making Central Taiwan one of Hong Kong’s key source markets. At the “Taichung International Travel Fair” kicking off today (the 9th), the Hong Kong Tourism Board has joined forces with five major travel operators—including Lion Travel, Getaway Spirit, Jindi, Taiyuan, and KKday, a travel platform making its first appearance at the Taichung fair—to set up the “Hong Kong Pavilion.” A variety of highly attractive promotional packages have been launched, aiming to capture the summer family travel market.

Among them, Lion Travel is offering a special deal called “Pay for 2 adults, get 1 child free” at 5,888 NTD. This 3-day-2-night package includes flights and accommodation. For just 5,888 NTD per adult, two adults can bring along one child under 12 years old for free. The price per person is 3,000 NTD cheaper than last year’s travel fair, and also includes one 500 NTD meal voucher per person for Hello Kitty Chinese Restaurant and one day of complimentary breakfast at the hotel.

For families of four, Lion Travel and Jindi Travel are offering a “Pay for 2 adults, get 2 children free” package at 8,999 NTD. This 3-day-2-night package includes accommodation for four people in one room and two adult tickets plus two child tickets. The whole family of four can travel to Hong Kong for just 17,998 NTD.

Christina Tsui, Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board in Taiwan, said that to offer travelers a refreshing experience of Hong Kong and allow them to deeply appreciate the city’s fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, Hong Kong’s first wave of activities this year highlights the “Old Town Central” itinerary, and a brand-new travel brochure titled “Old Town Central: A Walking Route Guide” will be distributed for free at the Hong Kong Pavilion.

Aligned with the concept of Old Town Central, Lion Travel is offering a 3-day-2-night package at 11,888 NTD per person, which includes a walking tour of Old Town Central and a cheongsam experience. The departure date is July 8, with only one group available. Getaway Spirit Travel allows travelers to add a cheongsam experience for 2,600 NTD, where a dedicated staff member arranges the cheongsam rental and guides the Old Town Central walk, ending with afternoon tea at PMQ, a cultural and creative hub transformed from an old police married quarters.

Taiyuan Travel Agency is offering a 3-day-2-night package at the Excelsior Hotel Causeway Bay for 7,999 NTD per person, including daily breakfast. In addition, to coincide with the “Marvel Hero Run” event to be held at Hong Kong Disneyland on September 16 and 17, the travel platform KKday is offering a discounted price of 2,762 NTD for the run, and is also providing a 5% discount on all Hong Kong travel packages at the Taichung Travel Fair.

The newly opened “Disney Explorers Lodge,” a favorite among both kids and adults at Hong Kong Disneyland, is now available for booking. Getaway Spirit Travel is offering a 3-day-2-night package for four people sharing one room at 9,988 NTD per person (all prices are exclusive of tax), which includes a 2-day Disneyland ticket and round-trip airport shuttle bus transfers to and from the hotel.

Christina Tsui said that summer is the peak season for travel in Hong Kong, with a wide array of exciting activities taking place throughout the season. This summer, Hong Kong Disneyland will launch the “Marvel Summer Super Heroes” event, where popular superheroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Spider-Man will meet with visitors. Hong Kong Ocean Park invites guests to enjoy beach parties, featuring giant animal sand sculptures, bubble parties, giant surf buckets, fountain tunnels, and other water play facilities. The widely loved 6,500 classic yellow rubber ducks will also make a comeback and swim happily in Ocean Park.

Additionally, there’s the Lan Kwai Fong Music & Beer Festival (July 15–16), and this year’s debut “Hong Kong Esports and Music Festival” combining eSports, food, and music, which will be held at the new Central Harbourfront in Central from August 4–6. On the façade of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, there will be a large-scale outdoor light and projection show “A Symphony of Lights” (August 11–September 2), featuring 3D projections and musical lighting effects. A series of “shop, eat, and play non-stop” summer events await travelers from Taichung to experience in Hong Kong.
