Riding on the popular picnic trend, Taiwan Salt Co. has launched a limited-time, limited-quantity themed picnic set for the first time at the Qigu Salt Mountain grassland during the consecutive holidays leading up to Children’s Day. From April 4 to April 8, families are invited to enjoy a picnic “Qi” (a homophone for “qi,” meaning “to start” or “to go”) together with Taiwan’s largest “Lucky Penguin” and four adorable baby penguins.
Taiwan Salt Co. has long been committed to promoting local tourism. This year, for the first time, it introduces a salt mountain–exclusive picnic set featuring local flavors at Qigu Salt Mountain in Tainan—one of the most beloved family-friendly tourist spots. Priced originally at NT$499, the set is available at a promotional price of NT$299, with a daily limit of 30 sets for children and during the Qingming holiday period.
This salt mountain–exclusive picnic set includes Taiwan Salt ocean alkaline ion water, snowflake salt butter crackers, brine tofu pudding, ride tickets for family-friendly amusement facilities, and a floral fairy fashion shopping bag. It allows you and your family to enjoy the coastal scenery, take photos, and experience a unique picnic fun—accompanied by the adorable “Lucky Penguin,” penguin-shaped tumbler toys, and large character mascots such as the popular IG-worthy owl, money cat, and love angel.
Taiwan Salt states that there are many great picnic spots within the Qigu Salt Mountain park, such as grassy areas with views of the main salt mountain peak, the scenic Liangyuan Pond surrounded by the Love Island and Lover’s Bridge, and the barbecue area perfect for group outings—all offering unique picnic experiences.
In addition, the salt mountain features family-friendly amusement rides such as a miniature train, a dragon bone water wheel experience, bumper cars, a track train, a pirate ship, a carousel, a frog game machine, and a black-faced spoonbill pedal boat. For those seeking a bit more thrill, there’s also the option to ride an ATV and enjoy the rush of speed and chase.
Moreover, when visiting Qigu Salt Mountain, you must try a series of locally unique sweet-and-salty treats such as brine coffee, salty popsicles, and handmade brine tofu pudding. The park also hosts various DIY activities where you can paint your own unique penguin clock or get creative making colorful salt jars—perfect for keeping both adults and kids entertained all day. Additionally, Qigu Salt Mountain offers limited-edition face masks, bath, and skincare sets, all of which make distinctive souvenirs.
