The 2019 Zhubei Children's Arts Festival – The Playground of the Wind will take place over four consecutive days from April 4 to 7 at the Zhubei Cultural and Creative Center. The city government has also partnered with seven major hotel operators to launch three types of 2-day-1-night in-depth tour packages: the “Kids’ Energy Boost Edition,” the “Hipster Arts Edition,” and the “Historic Sites Stroll Edition,” allowing visitors to explore all that new Zhubei has to offer.

For families, the “Kids’ Energy Boost Edition” includes must-visits such as the granite slide at Qingqing Grassland, followed by a seafood meal at Nanliao Fishing Port. After refueling, hop on a bike to cruise along the 17-kilometer coastline, then head to the newly completed large sandpit at Zhubei Park and enjoy century-old street snacks at the City God Temple.

The “Hipster Arts Edition” suggests starting the day with a visit to Green World Ecological Farm to get up close with animals in nature, followed by viewing exhibitions at the 241 Art Space and Zhubei City Art Museum. In the evening, head to the popular Dongmen Market for specialty foods and then take a night stroll along the Long’en Canal.

The “Historic Sites Stroll Edition” is sure to captivate history buffs. Explore exhibitions at the Railway Art Village, sample century-old snacks at the City God Temple, and visit the nearby Firefighting Museum, which showcases the architectural charm of firefighting facilities from the Japanese colonial period. Next door stands the 92-year-old Zhubei Prefectural Hall.

Huang Hui-hui, Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, stated that the Children's Arts Festival has built an excellent reputation over the years. Every piece of play equipment has undergone precise structural engineering calculations, with shock-absorbing materials on the edges and steel wire mesh that has passed safety tests, ensuring that families can safely and joyfully enjoy the various play structures and create sweet memories together.

In addition to a “Zhubei Flavor Market” assembled by local food vendors, Vieshow Cinemas and Green World Leisure Farm have also joined to support the festival, offering numerous free movie tickets and entry passes. Local hotels are also fully on board, launching special discount packages to encourage visitors to explore deeper into Zhubei, hoping to once again inject vitality into the city’s tourism industry.
