The spring travel campaign is nearing its end. Since the Pingtung County spring travel program launched in April, its effectiveness has become evident. Currently, the application progress for independent travel has reached 87%, and it is expected to reach full capacity by mid-June. Moreover, group independent travel packages have been particularly popular, with over 200 groups already subsidized. Among those visiting Pingtung, more than 70% of group travelers chose the Hengchun Peninsula, making it the top travel destination.

In addition, this spring travel subsidy has led to about a 10% increase in family travelers to Hengchun. Furthermore, the off-season subsidies have allowed businesses to better prepare for the upcoming summer peak travel season.

According to the latest visitor statistics released by the Kenting National Park Headquarters, the cumulative number of visitors from January to April this year was approximately 1.35 million, an increase of 140,000 compared to around 1.21 million visitors during the same period last year, indicating a clear rebound in Kenting tourism. Additionally, during the recently concluded Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which happened to be a three-day break, Kenting’s hotel occupancy rate hit another peak. Especially notable were major flagship hotels such as Caesar Park and Fuhang, where occupancy rates exceeded 90%, demonstrating the resurgence of Hengchun tourism.

Huang Guowei, Director of the County Government’s Transportation and Tourism Division, stated that besides the booming independent travel market, group tours to Pingtung reached full capacity even earlier. Statistics show that over 100 travel agencies across Taiwan applied, submitting applications for more than 200 groups, totaling over 16,000 participants.

Furthermore, from January to the present, 24 qualified homestays on the Hengchun Peninsula have been approved, with over 20 additional applications currently under review. This clearly indicates that the Hengchun Peninsula still holds significant business potential, and these trends highlight that Kenting remains a favored destination among travelers.
