Dedicated to providing free accommodation assistance and serving as a haven for families traveling long distances for medical treatment, Ronald McDonald House Charities has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for over 20 years. Its belief that "happiness is contagious" has touched the hearts of many Taiwanese. Longhua TV and Bear Mom’s Grocery Network turned this inspiration into action by leading chefs and volunteers from “Board Game New Paradise,” who served as kitchen assistants for the day. Along with healthy meals and interactive song-and-dance performances, they also played board games with the children, creating a joyful dinner experience.
On the 15th, volunteers from “Board Game New Paradise” visited Ronald McDonald House Charities and specially prepared a Korean dish, aiming to offer children and their families a taste of cuisine not easily found in either Taiwanese or Korean restaurants. This not only helped replenish the energy of both kids and parents facing the challenges of medical treatment but, more importantly, conveyed warmth and care through shared meals, easing feelings of anxiety and tension.
While the food was being prepared, volunteers were seen organizing board games in a corner of the house. It turned out they had brought the games to the hospital the previous day to play with young patients — an initiative perfectly aligned with the mission of “Board Game New Paradise”: to promote companionship and shared play. The volunteers said, "Through board games, we can create social interaction opportunities for children and help develop their hand-eye coordination. It's truly moving to see many children, even those with IV drips, leave their hospital rooms to join in the fun." In response, “Board Game New Paradise” gifted a set of board games to the volunteer moms so they could bring them to the hospital for future play sessions with the children.
In addition to airing every Saturday at 5 PM on Channel 104 “Longhua Animation Station” via Chunghwa Telecom MOD, “Board Game New Paradise” can also be watched on other digital platforms: Happy TV Fain TV, Hami Video, KKTV, LINE TV, LiTV, Four Seasons Online Cinema, Friday, myVideo, and bbTV.
