JR Kyushu’s 4 types of rail passes to increase in price on July 1st, with the highest hike at 18%

With the Japanese yen recently plummeting, traveling to Japan has become a favorite among Taiwanese. However, some of the most popular JR PASSes (rail passes) used by Taiwanese travelers are also seeing price increases. Four types of JR Kyushu rail passes will be raised in price starting July 1st, with the largest increase being an 18% hike for the 3-day Northern Kyushu Area Pass, which was previously 7,200 yen and will rise to 8,500 yen after July 1st.

The four JR Kyushu rail passes that will see price adjustments are the 3-Day Northern Kyushu Area Pass, the 5-Day Northern Kyushu Area Pass, the 3-Day All Kyushu Area Pass, and the 5-Day All Kyushu Area Pass. The 3-Day Northern Kyushu Area Pass sees the largest increase, rising from 7,200 yen to 8,500 yen after July 1st, a 18% hike; the 5-Day Northern Kyushu Area Pass increases from 9,260 yen to 10,000 yen, up 8%; the 3-Day All Kyushu Area Pass goes from 14,400 yen to 15,000 yen, a 4% increase; and the 5-Day All Kyushu Area Pass rises from 17,490 yen to 18,000 yen, up 3%.
