The annualTaitung International Hot Air Balloon Carnival kicks off on June 27 and runs until August 9! The Taitung County Government recommends that visitors make use of shuttle buses as well as public transport such as the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle's Longitudinal Valley Luye Line and Dingdong Bus services to help preserve the local environment. The county government has also introduced a special discount scheme for residents: “Pay once, enjoy unlimited entries.”

Starting now, Taitung residents can visit the unmanned payment station at the intersection of Xinxing Road and Nanjing Road in Taitung City with their vehicle registration and ID card. By showing proof of residency in Taitung County and confirming vehicle ownership (rental and commercial vehicles not eligible), they can apply for the exclusive Taitung County resident discount! Residents with the discount can pay once and enjoy unlimited entries to the event area during the campaign period without paying the cleaning fee.

Visitors who drive to the event themselves, whether in passenger or cargo vehicles, will be subject to an entry cleaning fee. The fee is charged daily from 5:00–8:00 AM and 3:30–8:00 PM during the event period. Each vehicle is charged a maximum of once per day—NT$100 on weekdays and NT$150 on weekends and holidays. Motorcycles and bicycles are exempt from the fee.
