Nestled at the intersection of Hebei 1st Road and Jintian Road, Sanwu Inn exudes a tranquil alleyway vibe, facing Xingfu River and lined with lush green trees. We have this place to thank for fellow foodies’ recommendations, which gave us the chance to discover it. Nestled at the intersection of Hebei 1st Road and Jintian Road, Sanwu Inn exudes a tranquil alleyway vibe, facing Xingfu River and lined with lush green trees. There isn’t much traffic here, creating a stark contrast with the neighboring Jianguo Mall — two worlds apart. Open for about a year, the shop has garnered plenty of praise. Its spacious interior also makes it a great choice for group gatherings.

Hearing the name, one might mistake it for a hotel-café combo, but it’s actually just a restaurant. Despite hearing it does brisk business, we didn’t book ahead and just showed up — luckily arriving early, or else we’d have been followed by a group of dozens that nearly filled the entire place. Indeed, besides being a regular eatery, the shop also rents out space for corporate events or group activities. Their social media shows past events like makeup workshops, film shoots, and even marriage proposals.

Industrial style has been all the rage in recent years, and most newly opened restaurants have adopted some version of it to showcase their unique character. Take this place’s design, for example — exposed ceilings and piping are staples of industrial style, while the surrounding red brick walls add a rugged touch, another hallmark of the aesthetic.

Metal furniture is immediately noticeable upon entering, with shelves lined with books that add a literary flair to the otherwise stark industrial setting.

The iron tables feature wooden tops, whose grain patterns lend the restaurant depth and texture, perfectly capturing the essence of industrial style.

Near the bar counter, a metal rack holds a self-service area with iced tea and various seasonings.

There’s a wide range of dishes, but Shadow has selected just the brunch options to share. Sandwiches are priced around NT$175–215, with an additional NT$39 for any drink under NT$80 (price difference applies for pricier drinks).

The “A Little Full” brunch sets range from NT$235 to NT$275. Adding NT$29 gets you unlimited American coffee or breakfast tea, while NT$39 lets you choose any drink under NT$80.

For something more substantial, go for the main-course series, priced between NT$265 and NT$345.

Smoked Bacon & German Sausage American Brunch – NT$235

This hearty brunch includes grilled bacon, German sausage, organic scrambled eggs, bread, lettuce with vinaigrette, and roasted potatoes with mushrooms.

We weren’t used to the lettuce with vinaigrette, so we didn’t finish it, but the rest of the meal was delicious.

The German sausage was crispy and fragrant, though the bacon was slightly greasy.

Two types of bread were used — one with nuts, and the other (shown in the photo) soft yet firm, served with a side spread.

The bahn mi-style dish (Note: possible garbled text, context suggests a standout item) was particularly memorable. The bread had a crispy exterior, while the inside remained fluffy and richly textured, paired with a flavorful spread.

Smoked Chicken Breast with Homemade Pesto Sandwich – NT$175

This sandwich, made with Danish toast, is best eaten hot. The toast is lightly toasted on the outside for a crispy bite, stuffed with plenty of lettuce, thickly scrambled eggs, and seasoned uniquely with pesto — a definite highlight. A single serving should easily satisfy a woman’s appetite.

Healthy Mixed Juice – NT$100 (single order) / American Coffee

The juice is freshly pressed from carrots, oranges, celery, and cucumbers. It has a natural celery aroma, balanced sweetness, and is very refreshing. The American coffee is refillable.

On a weekend morning, savoring a delicious breakfast in a quiet alley amidst the hustle and bustle is truly relaxing. Oh, and the row of window seats comes with power outlets — perfect for laptop-toting friends. The place gets busy, so booking ahead if possible is wise to avoid spoiling your mealtime mood. With its cozy industrial vibe, tasty food, and reasonable prices, it’s ideal for family or friends gatherings — highly recommended.
