The "Geology and Disaster Prevention Special Exhibition" organized by the Central Geological Survey, Ministry of Economic Affairs, will run from July 15 to October 18. This marks the first collaboration with the Council of Indigenous Peoples, showcasing exhibitions in three locations: Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung. In addition to informative displays, specially curated indigenous tourism spots with diverse geological features are also featured, inviting the public to explore Eastern Taiwan and discover the profound charm of this beautiful island.

The 2015 "Geology and Disaster Prevention Special Exhibition" is being held in the east, with four venues selected: the "Theme Exhibition Hall" at the Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park, the "Reading Salon" at National Ilan University and the National Museum of Prehistory in Taitung, and the "Life Experience" exhibition area at the Back Mountain · Shanhou Story House in Ji’an Township, Hualien County. The event also regularly features activities such as mobile libraries, holiday challenges, plate-crossing experiences, and Facebook giveaways to attract visitors.

The organizers emphasize that due to the long and narrow terrain of the eastern region, residents in Yilan and Taitung who may find it inconvenient to visit the "Theme Exhibition Hall" at the Hualien Cultural and Creative Park can opt for the nearby "Reading Salon" exhibition areas at National Ilan University and the Taitung Museum of Prehistory to browse and access online books and e-books on geology and disaster prevention. The "Life Experience" exhibition area at the Back Mountain · Shanhou Story House in Ji’an, Hualien, is also an excellent choice, offering close encounters with minerals, stones, indigenous art, lifestyle crafts, agri-tech enterprises, and deep-sea water industries.

The 2015 Geology and Disaster Prevention Special Exhibition will hold a preview from July 15 to 22, with the opening ceremony on July 23. This is a rare large-scale and long-term exhibition in the eastern region. Timed guided tours will be available during the exhibition period.
