When it comes to cabin cleanliness and safety, travelers often overlook these details due to their excitement about the trip, but they can actually have a pretty big impact. In addition, some passengers misunderstand flight attendants because they don’t know what their job entails. Don’t be a difficult passenger—check out the“7 things flight attendants wish you knew”on the roadwarriorvoices website.
1. The golden age of air travel has passed
The cabin may offer cola and snacks, but that’s about it. In the past, passengers could bring their own food on board, which was often much healthier than anything served today.
2. The floor is super dirty
Hygiene standards vary by country, and there are a lot of unseen germs on the floor.
3. Gross passenger behavior
Taking off shoes and putting feet on the wall, holding dirty diapers, or throwing empty sugar packets directly on the floor—and some even toss them at flight attendants’ faces just because their sandwich hasn’t arrived yet.
4. Bring your own medication
Although the cabin has first aid kits and emergency equipment, flight attendants are not allowed to administer medication to passengers. Those with migraines, sleep disorders, or hangovers need to bring their own medicine.
5. Don’t stand up while the plane is taxiing
Your luggage could slide and fall, possibly hitting someone.
6. Flight attendants and passengers follow the same rules
The things flight attendants tell passengers not to do are also rules they must follow themselves. Please don’t give them a hard time.
7. Flight attendants aren’t as glamorous as you think
They might not have been home for days, layovers in cities are usually very short, and they’re often tired with irregular meal times.
