Japan’s Naoshima Island’s healing "Red Pumpkin" artwork temporarily closed to visitors

Known as the “Island of Art,” Naoshima Island in Japan is most famous for the iconic artwork "Pumpkin" by legendary artist Yayoi Kusama. However, from now until July 31st, the area around the "Red Pumpkin" is undergoing concrete paving work and will be temporarily closed to visitors.
Resembling a red ladybug, the "Red Pumpkin" is not only an eye-catching piece but also allows visitors to step inside, making it a must-visit spot for international travelers coming to Naoshima. However, the Naoshima Town Tourism Association announced on its official website that concrete paving work is currently underway near the Red Pumpkin, so entry is not permitted. During this period, visitors can only view it from a distance.
