Far Eastern Air Transport announced it will introduce three Boeing 737-800s and has signed the official contract for the first brand-new 737-800 aircraft with ALC. The planes will be purchased in three annual installments, with the first delivery scheduled for May 2016. The airline also plans to gradually phase out its MD82 and MD83 models.

The incoming 737-800s will have a seating configuration of 4 business class and 174 economy class seats, and will be used on international routes. To accommodate the new fleet, Far Eastern Air Transport stated it will continue expanding its workforce, including maintenance personnel and pilots. The airline will also recruit its second batch of flight attendants this year on July 27 and 28, aiming to hire 25 new flight attendant recruits.
