Only until next July！Shizuoka’s one-year-only “Chibi Maruko-chan Painted Train” has launched

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the anime "Chibi Maruko-chan" and the 15th anniversary of Chibi Maruko-chan Land, the Shizuoka Railway’s Shizuoka-Shimizu Line has introduced the “Chibi Maruko-chan Painted Train,” which will run from now until July 26, 2016.

The exterior of the “Chibi Maruko-chan Painted Train” features a predominantly peach and light pink color scheme. Not only is the outside decorated with images of Maruko, Tama-chan, and her classmates, but the interior is also adorned with posters in matching colors. Shizuoka Railway stated that the painted train runs an average of 13 round trips per day, with up to 19 round trips at peak times. Timetables for the painted train are displayed daily at both Shin-Shizuoka Station and Shin-Shimizu Station, giving fans the chance to ride this limited-edition Chibi Maruko-chan-themed train.
