Valentine’s Day and birthdays are always times when I start stressing over what to eat—days when I’m more than happy to splurge. But this time wasn’t for Valentine’s or a birthday; I just saw the new “Your Lobster, Your Way” promotion at Le Mois and thought it sounded like a great deal. So, I came here for lunch during my free time. I actually had my first French meal here at Le Mois.

I don’t have any particularly professional knowledge about French cuisine—I just love how chefs often bring their own creative touch to their cooking. Coming to Le Mois felt almost like watching a food show today, with the new set menu offering so many fun and interesting presentations.

Taking advantage of the fact that it wasn’t too crowded, I arrived a few minutes earlier than the other guests to take some photos. After all, both Le Mois and In Moon have spaces I really enjoy—the interplay of light and space, the blend of fashion and elegance. But there’s no stiff or formal atmosphere here at all. I actually quite like the occasionally playful interactions from the staff, which make the whole experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. That’s the kind of vibe that makes enjoying a meal truly special.

But that doesn’t mean the service is sloppy or careless. All the expected standards of fine French dining service are still very much in place. I think it adds an extra layer that enhances the chef’s delicious creations. I believe anyone who dines here will notice that. Now, let’s get to the main event and see what delicious dishes I had today. The main thing I wanted to try was the [Classic French Lunch Set], a newly launched option priced at just ‘780 TWD + 10% | per person,’ which is quite affordable for French cuisine.

It includes six courses in total—from appetizer to main to dessert—with three choices for the main dish. Only the more expensive duck breast with foie gras requires an additional charge. It’s actually attracted quite a lot of diners. Of course, there’s also another menu option—the [Your Lobster, Your Way] set, priced at ‘2380 TWD + 10% | per person.’ It’s a bit higher than the lunch set, but the content is much richer.

But the most appealing part? Just by ordering this “Your Way” set and checking in, you’ll get ‘an additional half lobster for free’—super tempting, right?! If not for this, why else would I be here? XDD Of course, the highlight is also that I’ve heard the final dessert is quite fun and unique. Now, let’s dig in. (Since the two set menus differ quite a bit and are a bit complex, I’ll use dish names and color coding to distinguish them in the descriptions below.)

As usual, they first ask whether you’d like mineral water or sparkling water. I normally go for sparkling water—the individual water charge is 45 TWD. The sparkling water with a slice of lemon is refreshing and zesty.

[Your Lobster Experience – Pre-meal Sparkling Wine]
A French peach-flavored sparkling wine with a low alcohol content—great for a gentle aperitif. It doesn’t give you much of a buzz though.

● 《ET News Cloud》 reminds you: Don’t drink and drive, and don’t drive after drinking.

Next up is their signature French bread served with three types of spreads [Echire unsalted butter, olive oil, and black olive tapenade]. They always offer these three spreads, but I always only go for the Echire butter and olive oil. Their French bread is delicious—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, yet still with a satisfying chew. And you can even get refills on the bread, which is basically designed to make you eat way too much. I remember my first time here—I got so obsessed with the Echire butter that I kept refilling the bread and ended up so full before the main course even arrived.

[Classic Lunch Set – Deep-sea Scallop & Sweet Shrimp with Caramelized White Cauliflower Purée (additional charge)]
This dish uses molecular gastronomy techniques—the slightly overflowing bubbles are made from plum wine and actually have a nice sour aroma. I really liked the scallops—they were just lightly seared, so you can taste their natural sweetness and tenderness, plus a hint of charred flavor.

The white cauliflower purée is richly sweet, almost like a thick soup, but it doesn’t have a strong vegetable taste. Not bad at all.

[Your Lobster Experience – Truffle Cream Mushroom Soup]
Served at just the right warm temperature, it slowly releases deep mushroom and truffle aromas, richly coating the tongue with a slightly thick consistency.

It’s almost addictive and not at all heavy—it’s the kind of soup you don’t want to stop drinking, and you won’t want to leave even the last bit at the bottom of the bowl.

[Your Lobster Experience – Smoked Salmon Caesar Salad]
Their smoked salmon has a strong, distinct flavor—the bold smoky aroma and saltiness come through with every bite of the fish, paired with cheese and crisp romaine lettuce, giving a slightly tangy saltiness. The overall taste is a bit bold but not heavy.

[Pineapple Lemon Sorbet]
A palate cleanser for the intermission—light pineapple sweetness and lemon acidity, cooling and refreshing. Then comes the anticipation for the two main courses.

[Your Lobster Experience – Veal Warm Appetizer]
This one is almost cheating—it shows up before the lobster, and I was already so excited for the lobster. But then they bring out something this delicious first. It’s not overly rich in fat, mostly tender lean meat. You can really feel the tenderness of the beef as you cut and chew it.

Lightly fragrant with a subtle sweetness, served with taro and sweet potato sides—this warm appetizer is just so good!!

[Your Lobster Experience – Custom Flavor Maine Lobster]
This lobster isn’t just simply served—it starts with the server bringing a live, active lobster to your table for you to see. At this point, most guests usually take out their phones or cameras to snap a few photos for social media later. Then the chef rolls out a cart with some cooking tools. Traditionally, lobster dishes are mostly steamed or pan-fried.

It also tends to make the meat tighten up, with some loss of its natural moisture. So this time, Faye Yue opted for cooking with heated volcanic stones. The broth in the pot was pre-infused with gin and sea salt, then mixed with various herbs like sage and rosemary to braise the ingredients.

By the time the hourglass on the table runs out, it’s about time the lobster is ready to be served (roughly around ten minutes).

When it’s brought to the table, it’s garnished and plated a little more beautifully — the bright red lobster adorned with soft pink petals looks gorgeous, full of vibrant spring vibes. The braised lobster indeed has a unique flavor. The entire lobster meat is crispy and elastic, without that overly tightened texture from overcooking.

As you chew, juices seep out with a hint of sweetness, and the previously added herbs and gin aroma linger in the background. It’s absolutely delicious. Especially the large chunk of lobster meat on the tail, which you can scoop out directly with a fork. One big bite is incredibly satisfying!! Before the end of August, if you order this set meal and take a photo to check in on Facebook, they’ll give you an extra half lobster. Of course, I checked in right away XD.

【Classic Lunch Dish – Peach Duck Breast with French Loukoum Duck Liver, Chef’s Risotto, and Port Wine Sauce】
This dish is like a Kinder Surprise egg, offering three distinct flavors… the duck breast, duck liver, and risotto each shine on their own, and the portions are quite generous. The firm duck breast has a nice chew, and as soon as it touches your tongue, the rich aroma of duck bursts through, paired with a sauce that has a slight tang.

The colorful salts presented next are also a signature of Faye Yue. The servers will recommend salts that pair well with different main dishes. The thick and rich duck liver tastes amazing from the very first bite, and I practically finished it in seconds. Even after eating it all, I still wanted more. The risotto underneath contains shredded duck meat, and the rice texture is slightly adjusted to have a bit of bite but remains soft — suiting Taiwanese preferences more.

Although I personally prefer the firmer Italian style, I understand that restaurants have to cater to different tastes, which I can respect. That said, I actually do enjoy this version too. Having all three satisfying elements in one main dish shows quite clever design. However, for the risotto, it might be good to specify the texture preference in advance. After all, it’s a French restaurant — some level of customization should be possible.

【Drink – Iced Darjeeling Black Tea + Iced Latte】
Since we initially wanted to try special add-on desserts and main dishes, we opted for simpler drinks instead of special ones.

【Floral Lobster – Chocolate Bomb Show (Upgrade Price 350 NTD)】
This dessert was our second main reason for coming. This set dessert hides two surprises and is absolutely worth the wait. It’s only available with the lobster set meal. Individual diners need to pay extra, but if both people order the lobster meal, it’s free to upgrade.

Actually, many desserts abroad no longer follow a single plate presentation. Lavish plating or tableside performance services are new trends in modern desserts. This chocolate bomb show is one of the most eye-catching — it takes up more than half the table. The process of setting up the props or finishing the dessert is so engaging that nearly every passerby stops to watch and chat. They first place a board on the table, then take out three types of fruit jams and start drawing freely on the tabletop (guests can also join in). You see the colors of berry, kiwi, and mango jams outlining beautiful curves and shapes on the board.

After the drawing, a huge chocolate ball is taken out and smashed forcefully onto the table!!!! (Some guests gasp or scream in excitement XD). It’d be even better if guests could smash it themselves XDDD. This is honestly a perfect dessert for modern stress relief. Chocolate shards, sponge cake, marshmallows, and macarons scatter across the table like an abstract painting. The mix of sweet and sour flavors from various desserts, along with the slightly bitter-sweet richness of the chocolate, creates rich layers of taste. Whether you’re bringing a date or family, it’s a dessert that’s a joy to watch and eat, truly a feast for the eyes.

【Classic Lunch Dish – Handmade Caramelized Pear Sorbet】
The outer layer is a crispy caramel crust, the inside is a frozen custard-like sauce, and the base holds a crisp, sweet meringue. With simple plating, the overall dish offers a refreshing coolness like summer ice cream.

Dining at a French restaurant always takes time — it’s never really short — but if the experience is fun, you won’t feel restless. We were probably the first group to arrive for lunch and also the last to leave. The whole meal was pretty packed: ordering, eating, chatting, plus the tableside performance that made us want to take lots of photos to share. We also chatted with the servers occasionally or listened to their introductions. Overall, it was a really fun and satisfying meal. I’ve dined at Faye Yue a few times before, but this time felt quite different — not just in taste, but also visually, the culinary performance was really entertaining. If you’re interested, you can check out the set menu content from this visit — totally worth it!!
