Tucked away in an alleyway opposite the Tienmu Baseball Stadium and behind the American School“Corner. Blue Café”is a versatile café offering a diverse selection of coffee, main courses, light meals, and beer. The owner, Lin Yongxiu, who majored in nutrition during his university years, places great emphasis on ingredient quality—most ingredients are imported from abroad—ensuring that customers not only enjoy their meals but also savor the thought and care put into every dish.
Lin Yongxiu once worked at the Veterans General Hospital as an academic research assistant for four and a half years. Due to his passion for making desserts, he left his previous job to establish his own dessert studio and later partnered with friends to open this dream café. The name “Corner. Blue Café” comes from the name of Lin Yongxiu’s band during his student days. Since opening in November 2013, nearly two years have passed. The reason for choosing Tienmu was his familiarity with the pace and lifestyle here—compared to the bustling and hectic city center, this environment feels the most comfortable.
Lin Yongxiu said that besides funding, one of the biggest challenges since opening the shop has been customers taking time to observe the place before deciding to patronize it. It took nearly two years of operation before a steady stream of regular customers gradually emerged. The interior of the café features a relaxed, casual, and uniquely styled design, with walls adorned with various cards, posters, and long shelves displaying books, records, and small items, giving the impression of stepping into a little marketplace. This café originally started as Lin Yongxiu’s dessert studio, so the space is not large, but it has its own distinct charm.
The café features a design style that is casual, laid-back, and uniquely its own.

When designing the menu, the biggest consideration was the shelf life of the dishes. Because of the emphasis on ingredient quality, many materials are imported from abroad, including butter, flour, chocolate, and tea leaves—especially carefully selected, strictly certified ingredients from overseas to create the most authentic dishes. However, this also means that the production process is labor-intensive and the costs are relatively high.

The café offers different types of meals.

Main dishes include a variety of rice and noodle options. Among them, the Bolognese tagliatelle is made with pork leg meat of balanced fat-to-lean ratio, paired with celery, carrots, onions, and Italian Roma tomatoes, served with flat wide noodles, and seasoned with pepper and grated Parmesan cheese. The pasta can also be adjusted to the customer's preferred softness or hardness. Recently, new dishes have also been introduced, including French-style braised lamb and Italian tomato cold noodles.
A cup of freshly squeezed juice is priced at NT$120.

The signature grilled cheese sandwich is still made using locally sourced bread, ham, and cheese, topped with potatoes, bacon, and tomatoes, and served with a side of salad and a drink. The combination of melted cheese, smoky flavor, and crispy pastry crust is quite unique, priced at NT$280.

Additionally, there are set meal options, including a savory tart set (daily savory tart + salad + any drink under NT$150), a bread meal (Italian herb bread + salad + mashed potatoes + any drink under NT$150), and a French toast set (French toast + seasonal fruit + choose any tea drink), all priced at NT$280 per set.
For beverages, there are options such as coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and specialty drinks. Among them, Marco Polo tea is one of the best-selling classic flavors, made with flowers and fruits from Xinjiang, Mongolia, and Tibet in China, blending into a mysterious oriental aroma full of floral and fruity notes, priced at NT$180 per pot. Teas from different regions are specially selected to allow customers to enjoy different classic flavors while dining.
Herbal tea is priced at NT$150.

Lemon tea is priced at NT$140.

The rich caramel chocolate tart tastes sweet without being cloying, paired with its slightly salty and crispy pastry crust, making it quite special, priced at NT$140.

All the dishes are created by Lin Yongxiu through personally trying out various recipes, online information, videos, and more—he has tried each one himself. Each dish offers a unique flavor. Lin Yongxiu believesthat eating is actually very simple—it’s just a part of life. Therefore, opening a café is not only about fulfilling his dream of cooking but also providing customers with a comfortable space to enjoy.
The café offers a cozy atmosphere and flexible seating, allowing customers to feel at ease.

The owner also occasionally invites musician friends to perform live at the café for free, providing an additional visual and auditory treat. Along with the joy it brings, he also hopes that one day this dream café will be seen by more people.
