Typhoon Swan, this year’s 15th, issued a maritime typhoon warning on the 21st. To ensure public safety, many events have been postponed or venues closed. ETtoday EBC has compiled these typhoon-related disruptions to help you avoid unnecessary trips.

Northern Region:

New Taipei City Nature and Ecology Conservation Team: Holiday Guided Tour on 8/22 canceled due to the typhoon

Pinglin Fresh Music Concert on 8/22 and 8/23 postponed; new dates are 9/5 and 9/6

Crazy Summer Water Fun – Aquatic Experience Activities on 8/22 and 8/23 suspended for one week; all registered sessions are canceled

Xikou Music & Lifestyle Festival on 8/23 postponed

Taoyuan Lotus Season: Main venue activities and cultural exhibitions on 8/22 and 8/23 canceled

Taoyuan Xinyi Coastal Leisure Party on 8/22 postponed

Taoyuan Xinyi Brave the Happy Island Bike Tour on 8/22 and 8/23 postponed

Guishan Island, Longmen Camping Area, and Longmen Suspension Bridge under precautionary closure

Central Region:

2015 Taichung Blue Ocean Tourism Season series of events postponed to 8/29 and 8/30

Coastal Tourism Train: Route 6 on 8/22 postponed to 8/29; Route 5 on 8/23 postponed to 8/30

Creative Beach Activities: Beach Volleyball Competition on 8/22 moved to 8/29; Beach Soccer Match on 8/23 moved to 8/30

Dongshi Forestry Culture Park: 2015 Symphony of Forest Fragrance Holiday Concert on 8/22 postponed to 9/13

Southern Region:

LoveFUN Extreme ~ Aqua Kaohsiung Carnival on 8/22 and 8/23 postponed

2015 Wild Ginger Flower Season, Dongyuan Forest Recreation Area (Fragrant Forest) closed on 8/22 and 8/23

Sun Moon Lake Administration: Precautionary closure of scenic spots including Shuishe Mountain, Shuishe Waterfront Trail, Hanbi Trail, Maolan Mountain, Songbai Trail, and Dazhu Lake Trail

Eastern Region:

Taipingshan under precautionary closure starting 2 PM on 8/21; natural trails closed starting 8/22

Ironflower Crazy Street Season – Hot Street Outdoor Party on 8/21 canceled

Taitung Camping Life Festival in Taimali: 8/22 and 8/23 sessions canceled due to Typhoon Swan

Haihao Duanduan Market on 8/22 canceled; next market event on 9/19

Taitung Grandparents and Grandchildren Day: Hiking activity on 8/22 postponed to 9 AM on 8/29

Ironflower Music Festival – Golden Melody Band Boxing on 8/23 canceled

Warning closure of coastal trails at recreational areas including Jishan Beach Recreational Area (seaside bathing beach), Shitiping Recreational Area Coastal Trail, Green Island Shilang, Chaikou, and Dabai Sha Snorkeling Areas, Green Island Sunrise Hot Springs, Baxian Cave, Sanxiantai, Jialulan, and Xiaoyeliu
