TRA’s brand-new themed cruise train is about to launch. The “Liyuanliao Station,” the only station along the Alishan Forest Railway located within Meishan Township, is a hidden tea-scented haven nestled in the mountains. Starting in October, a tea-themed cruise train will take travelers deep into this serene locale, with registration opening on September 9.

Situated at an altitude of 905 meters, Liyuanliao Station is an unstaffed flag stop that rarely sees trains besides those passing through. Next to the station lies a scenic overlook surrounded by acacia trees, known as the “Jianqing Platform.” Even Japan’s Showa Crown Prince and former President Chiang Kai-shek once visited this spot to enjoy the view—it’s truly a hidden gem of the Alishan Forest Railway.

Registration for the fourth-quarter cruise train (October, November, December) opens on September 9, with a limit of 100 passengers per session. Booking is divided between group travelers and individual passengers; for more details, please visitthe TRA official website.
